FIONA MA A SOUND WINNER (6/7/06)

Fiona Ma was all smiles even though she was exhausted from all the walking and shaking hands - red eyes and all but all smiles because she worked hard to win a sound victory over her little known opponent Janet Reilly. Millions of dollars were spent by both candidates.

My good friend John Nauer and I made sure we were there at the Irish Cultural Center where early on we found that Fiona Ma had good returns and that her opponent had bit the dust.

Fiona Ma has now been given an opportunity to represent her constituents. For sure she should remember that All Islanders Gathering As One worked very hard and took good care to blanket Daly City and those areas like Public Housing with effective distribution of information about Fiona Ma.

Former State Senator John Burton was there and Fiona Ma was delighted to express her gratitude. There were those from the Irish Community that supported Fiona Ma. I saw Sean Elsbernd and Susan Leal. There were other consultants and politicians coming together to wish Fiona Ma the very best.

The Chinese Community was there in force but only those that chose to stick with Fiona Ma all the way to Sacramento. San Francisco has an unique community be it in the Chinese or any other community - today those chose to stay with Fiona Ma feel good.

Fiona Ma will go to Sacramento and on to better things if she remembers those that worked very hard to put her where she is today. The Democratic Party in recent years has lost respect because many Democrats have chosen to be lethargy. Good leaders know the way, show the way and go the way.

We have trusted and worked hard so that Fiona Ma may deliver and take this victory to the highest level in fair politics. This is one nice victory for the Pacific Islander and Asian Community but also one for everyone that believes in Accountability and Transparency.
